Toledo running back Peny Boone, the 2023 MAC Offensive Player of the Year, has committed to Louisville.
Boone arrived in Louisville for an official visit on Friday.
Ranked by On3 as the 29th-best overall player to hit the portal this offseason, Boone rushed for 1,400 yards and 15 touchdowns on 194 carries this past season. He also caught 15 passes for 219 yards and a touchdown.
Florida State was hoping that Boone would visit Tallahassee after his trip to the Derby City, but it appears that will no longer happen.
Boone started his career at Maryland and played sparingly before transferring to Toledo to play the last two seasons. He has one season of collegiate eligibility remaining.
The addition of Boone would be massive for Louisville under any circumstances, but it’s especially crucial since U of L’s two leading rushers from this past season — Jawhar Jordan and Isaac Guerendo — appear to have both played their final snaps for the Cardinals.
Get ready for some big boy rumbling next fall at Cardinal Stadium.
