Tennessee transfer defensive end Tyler Baron has flipped his commitment from Ole Miss to Louisville.

Baron confirmed the news on his social media Tuesday night.

The 247Sports transfer rankings list Baron as the No. 14 overall player in the portal and the No. 3 edge rusher.

Baron played heavy snaps for Tennessee in each of the past four seasons, and is coming off the most productive year of his college career to date. In 2023, he recorded 28 total tackles, including 10.5 for loss and six sacks. He also was credited with a fumble recovery touchdown.

For his career, Baron has logged 101 tackles, 27 tackles for loss, and 13.5 sacks. His 41 QB pressures last season were the fifth-most of any player in the SEC.

With the return of Ashton Gillotte, it’s not a stretch to say that Louisville will begin next season with two of the most feared edge rushers in all of college football. That is cool.

It’s not over yet either.
