Louisville wide receiver Ahmari Huggins-Bruce is entering the transfer portal.

The junior speedster made the announcement on his social media channels Friday afternoon.

“I have to begin by stating that I have truly loved and enjoyed my 3 years in Louisville as a Cardinal,” Huggins-Bruce said in his statement. “This program has given me the opportunity to play and show my skills as soon as I landed on campus. I have learned a great deal about football, teamwork, and self improvement since being a part of this football program. I want to thank the coaches, strength and conditioning staff, my teammates, my academic advisors, and Ms. Robyn in assisting me in my adjustments to being away from home. Further, I would like to thank Card Nation for your support you guys are the best.

“However, after extensive prayer and discussions with my family, I have decided to enter the transfer portal.”

Huggins-Bruce ranked sixth among Louisville’s wide receivers this past season in receptions (20), fourth in receiving yards (312), and second in touchdown receptions (4). He also carried the ball six times for 48 yards and an additional touchdown.

While Huggins-Bruce certainly had his moments as a Cardinal, he never quite popped as the consistent downfield threat that it seemed at times like he was going to become. With Louisville already going out and landing two of the higher-profile wide receivers in the transfer portal, this news isn’t overly shocking.

Best of luck to AHB moving forward.
