Thoughts: Bralyn Oliver may be one of the handful of players in 2021 that has folks checking their rosters come midseason. Oliver was a great get out of South Carolina, considered a Top 40 safety in the country and a Top 20 player overall in the state. The former Georgia commit flipped to the Cards last year and came in early to try and make an impact as a freshman. A solid spring has Oliver already on the two deep at FS and is only bested currently by the Georgia Southern transfer Kendrick Duncan.

Oliver is another young guy with great speed and great awareness. Playing corner mostly in high school Oliver has solid coverage skills that will be a great bonus when they drop him back to cover the second half of the field. I don’t want to brag but I played safety on a back to back flag football championship team (NBD) and the key is not only being able to read the quarterback but make a play. In seasons past we’ve had some safeties that can rack up PBUs, disrupt the wideout, etc but I want a guy who can snag a ball out of the air and take it back 20-30 yards. I think Oliver can do that.

While Ben Perry has received a bit more notice as a freshman in the secondary looking to make plays we could have a class of 2025 combo back there in Perry and Oliver as I think both have the potential to make noise sooner than later.
