After a monster 2020-21 season that probably didn’t get as much love nationally as it should have, Terry Rozier has inked a new deal that will keep him in Charlotte through at least 2026.
The max contract extension will pay Rozier $97 million over the next four seasons. Not bad.
Scary Terry was a beast for the Hornets last season, averaging a career-best 20.4 points per game on 45 percent shooting from the field and 38.9 percent from three. His 222 made three-pointers were the fifth-most in the NBA.
Talk to anyone around Louisville basketball over the last decade and they’ll tell you that Rozier had the roughest background of anyone they ever recruited and worked harder than any player they ever had once he got here. He was also one of the most amicable people in the city during his stay in The Ville, and was known to crash the occasional 3-year-old’s birthday party.
Dude deserves every penny of this. Congrats, Terry.
