Thoughts: The buzz on Dawson when he arrived on campus last year was that he was an uber-athletic young man who had size and speed….in other words, a great fit for Coach Brown’s system and a guy who could get some reps on the line with Coach Ivey. Standing at a phone book over 6-2 and a few biscuits over 250lb Dawson can still be mobile and even awhile back went from “sitting at the table” to going full pogo stick mode in a matter of seconds…

I’m not 6-3, nor am I two fifty plus, and I couldn’t do that with a running start.

Dawson also wrestled in high school, and my man could chop folks down like ‘Hacksaw Jim Duggan’, sans 2x4, finishing his last year in high school with over 50 wins. By the way, he also added 49 TFL and 18 sacks for those of you who care about football and stuff.

Dawson looks to be fighting for PT at nose this year and while we have a couple decent options there right now he’s got a shot this fall to slide up the depth chart and get some reps in his repeat freshman season. While I’m not sold he is the man in 2021 I like his potential beyond this season to create some chaos in the middle.
