Thoughts: If there is one guy we can point to on the O-line this year to help push it to the next level it’s Mr. Boone. Adonis has gone back and forth a bit on the line, playing mostly left tackle last year trying to replace the departed Becton, but the staff has found a spot for him at right guard in 2021 to allow for Trevor Reid to play in his more natural position at tackle.
Boone played in and started all eleven games last year and played well on the edge. He used his size to move bodies around quite a bit last year as a 6-5, 320lb man should do. A great example is here where Boone (#74, top) just absolutely takes his man out of the play and creates a lane for Cunningham to put up 6.
The shift to guard will present some challenges without question, but it’s not all new to Boone who played some there in 2019. Boone has said he actually prefers to play guard, and in an interview last month he said he felt his play this Spring encouraged him to shoot for an All-American type season (i.e. Prepare to be delt wit Ole Miss). Let’s hope Boone continues his growth and continues to move weight like he’s driving for UPS. “What can Boone do for you?”

When Adonis isn’t stacking up pancakes and crushing defensive tackles he’s boxing a 5-3 exacta in the 4th and reading tip sheets for the carryover Pick 5.
