The Louisville football team has added yet another defensive back to its roster. This time it’s Alcorn State transfer Qwynnterrio Cole, who was an FCS preseason All-American heading into a 2020 season that wound up not happening for his school.
As a junior in 2019, Cole notched 86 tackles and a team-best five interceptions. Those numbers earned him HBCU All-American honors following the season. In 2018, Cole recorded a team-high 76 tackles and a single interception.
At 6’3, 190-pounds, Cole played both corner and safety at Alcorn State, spending more time at the latter spot near the tail end of his career as a Brave. It seems more likely than not that Bryan Brown will give him a shot to play that position as a Cardinal as well.
Cole spent just four days in the transfer portal before picking U of L. During that time, he received interest from Tennessee, Memphis, Vanderbilt, Texas Tech, Baylor, and Kansas State, among others.
Welcome to U of L, Qwynnteririo.
