Dana Evans Selected 13th

Dana Evans’s draft night did not go as planned. All season she’d been predicted to be a first round pick however in a surprising turn of events the two time ACC Player of the Year dropped out of the first round and was chosen 13th by the Dallas Wings. The Wings had the first pick of the draft and took Texas center Charli Collier. They then selected Away Kuier a center from Finland with the second pick. They had the fifth pick which they used on Chelsea Dungee a guard from Arkansas.

Holly Rowe interviewed Dana after she was chosen and the feed kept cutting in and out, but it was clear that she was very emotional both from dropping into the second round and from the relief of seeing her dream finally come true. She will be heading into her professional career with something to prove and she said that she would use this night as motivation.

Louisville fans are no strangers to watching former players who were underestimated on draft night go out and make GMs look silly. Hopefully Dana will join that club.
