The Cards had a slow start against Pitt. With just a couple of minutes left in the first half it was a tie game. However, Louisville came out strong in the second half and took care of business to get their 20th win of the season.

When asked what the difference was in the two halves was Dana Evans said, “I think it’s how we came out... how we approached the third quarter. We knew that we didn’t have a good first half so we knew we just needed to let that half go and start over.” She added, “In the first half it was all at the defensive end I felt like we didn’t get stops. We didn’t get rebounds.”

Once again Dana led all scorers this time with 29 points. Hailey Van Lith had 13 points, 6 rebounds, and 4 assists. Coach Walz praised Mykasa Robinson’s game saying she was “phenomenal.” He said, “She’s everywhere. Five steals, five assists, zero turnovers, nine boards.... she competes.”

Dana said of Mykasa, “She’s not scared to get down there and go after loose balls. She does everything that a lot of players are not willing to do. That’s why she’s in the starting lineup.”

Next up the Cards travel to Florida for a rematch with Florida State. The game is Sunday at 2PM and can be seen on ACCNX.
