Cards in the NFL: Week 4

Here is your weekly report on how the former Louisville Cardinals did in the NFL over the weekend. The Cards currently have 11 former players on active NFL rosters. The big game of the weekend for Cards fans was of course Broncos vs Ravens. And to go along with a less than stellar sports weekend, Teddy got hurt and Lamar was hit late with no calls. But alas…

Jaire Alexander

Cornerback

Green Bay Packers

Alexander started but did not record any stats. The Packers defeated the Steelers 27-17.

Season: Four games, 13 tackles (9 solo), one interception, three passes defended.

Tutu Atwell

Wide Receiver

Los Angeles Rams

Atwell subbed in at wide receiver but did not have a reception. He had two punt returns for four yards. The Rams lost to the Cardinals 37-20.

Season: Four games, four punt returns for 13 yards, one fair catch.

Mekhi Becton

Offensive Tackle

New York Jets

Becton injured his knee in week one and is expected to miss another 2-6 weeks.

Season: One game, started and was injured.

Teddy Bridgewater

Denver Broncos

Teddy started and completed 7 of 16 passes for 65 yards (long of 32 yards), one touchdown and no interceptions. His QB rating was 76.3. He rushed one time for two yards. He was sacked two times for 15 yards. He left the game after taking a hit to the head and is currently in the concussion protocol. His status for this week’s game is still up in the air. The Broncos lost to the Ravens 23-7.

Season: Four games, 80/111 (72.1%) for 892 yards (long of 55 yards), five touchdowns, zero interceptions, sacked nine times, QB rating 110.6. 12 rushes for 46 yards (long of 13 yards).

Geron Christian

Offensive Line

Houston Texans

Christian did not play in a 40-0 loss to the Bills.

Season: Has played in two of four games so far.

Dorian Etheridge

Linebacker

Atlanta Falcons

Etheridge subbed in at linebacker in a 34-30 loss to the Washington Football Team.

Season: Four games played, one tackle.

Jonathan Greenard

Defensive End

Houston Texans

Greenard started at defensive end but did not record any stats. The Texans lost to the Bills 40-0.

Season: Two games, four tackles (two solo), one sack, one forced fumble.

Lamar Jackson

Baltimore Ravens

Lamar started and completed 22 of 37 passes for 316 yards (long of 49 yards), one touchdown, no interceptions, and a QB rating of 96.2. He rushed seven times for 28 yards (long of seven yards). He was sacked three times for 12 yards. The Ravens defeated the Broncos 23-7.

Season: Four games, 75/124 (60.5%) for 1,077 yards, four touchdowns, three interceptions, sacked 11 times, QB rating 89.3. 42 rushing attempts for 279 yards (long of 31 yards), two touchdowns.

John Miller

Offensive Line

Carolina Panthers

Miller started at guard in a 36-28 loss to the Cowboys.

Season: Miller has started in all four games this season.

DeVante Parker

Wide Receiver

Miami Dolphins

Parker started and had four receptions for 77 yards (long of 42 yards) and one touchdown. The Dolphins lost 27-17 to the Colts.

Season: Four games, 32 targets, 17 receptions for 242 yards (long of 42 yards), one touchdown.

Sheldon Rankins

Defensive Line

New York Jets

Rankins subbed in at defensive tackle and had two tackles (one solo) and one QB hit. The Jets defeated the Titans 27-24 in overtime.

Season: Four games, four tackles (two solo), one sack, one fumble recovery.
