After the buzzer: Miami

NCAA Basketball: Louisville at Miami-Florida Jasen Vinlove-USA TODAY Sports

Quick Hitters

-Film Review was a condensed version and this probably will be as well for a couple of reasons.

-The Cards play again tonight so I obviously want these done before the next game. But also, it’s hard to keep breaking down film of “Miami played harder on this possession and got the loose ball and scored” or “Carlik got a layup or Withers got a putback”. There just was not a whole lot in the form of sets being executed or things like that, so no need to show getting outworked for 12 clips.

-A quick glance at the box score confirms what you saw if you watched the game: Carlik Jones and Jae’Lyn Withers played for Louisville and that’s about all that showed up.

-Honorable mention to Quinn, who continues to play hard and get hustle points no matter what. So I can’t let him go unnoticed. But the rest of the rotation guys were just kind of there. Sort of.

-The team that was missing four starters and only played seven guys played like they wanted it more. Sometimes that is enough. You know the phrase, and it can be true. Hard work beats talent when talent doesn’t work hard. Miami deserved the win. Louisville did not.

-Louisville shot 3/20 from three for 15%.

-Miami pulled down 12 offensive rebounds.

-I said condensed so I will keep it condensed. We all saw it. No need to make this a novel. Louisville played really bad. Wong had a great game and carried his team. It is one conference loss on the road in January. I am not losing my mind over it. Things need to look better tonight. The best thing after a bad loss is another game as soon as possible. Let’s fix it.

-Thanks for checking this out. Go Cards!
