Louisville athletic director Vince Tyra talked with members of the media via teleconference on Wednesday to talk mostly about the news that four Cardinal squads had been forced to shut down team activities following 29 positive tests for COVID-19.
Tyra hammered home the point that he is “incredibly disappointed and frustrated” with the news that the positive tests are directly linked to a recent off-campus party.

Though he didn’t release the names of individual players who tested positive, Tyra did note that the men’s soccer team was “the leader in the clubhouse.”
“We have a strong commitment from our medical, administrative staff and our athletic department that we expect to be met with the same commitment from our student athletes,” Tyra said. “Unfortunately, we had a failure to do so.
“It is a fragile situation if you don’t follow the protocols.”
