Former Louisville star Asia Durr announced Tuesday morning that she will not be participating in the WNBA’s 2020 season.
Durr tested positive for COVID-19 last month, and says that her battle with the virus has been “complicated and arduous.” She made the decision to sit out the 2020 season after consulting with both doctors and the powers that be within the New York Liberty.

Durr was the second overall pick in the 2019 WNBA draft. Though a hip injury hampered her rookie season, she averaged 9.7 ppg while making 15 starts and 18 appearances for the Liberty in 2019.
Fellow U of L alums Jazmine Jones and Kylee Shook were both drafted by the Liberty earlier this year and are set to suit up for the team this season.
Best of luck to Asia as she continues down the road toward getting back to 100 percent.
