72 Days
Welp, a first in eight plus seasons of doing this....they went and changed the actual date of the kickoff on me mid-countdown, without so much as a phone call. I thought we were close Tyra? Oh well, we move on, so today we get to celebrate two days, and you get another “interesting and noteworthy” anecdote to ingest on a muggy Monday afternoon.
Occasionally on the days where the Cards don’t currently have a player on the roster wearing that days number I’ll try and drop an interesting fact or noteworthy stat relating to that said number. **I use the terms interesting and noteworthy very loosely**
Teddy Bridgewater finished his career at Louisville with 72 passing touchdowns, good enough for 3rd all-time in the program.
Malik (Micale) Cunningham, had 22 passing touchdowns in 2019 adding to the one he had in 2018 for a total of 23 so far in his career. Duplicating last season’s total (22) would put him at 45 for his career, moving him into fifth all-time at Louisville behind only the well-known names of Lamar Jackson, Brian Brohm, Teddy Bridgewater, Dave Ragone, and Chris Redman. Not bad in a “run first” offense.
