The Cardinal Countdown: 99 Days Until Kickoff

Since the Cards don’t have a player on the roster today I have to fill this void with something. I mean, busting out the Day 100 post and then giving you crickets on Day 99 would be like…I don’t know, hypothetically speaking…having teams warm up to play an ACC Tournament basketball game and then deciding 10 minutes later to just give one of them a trophy and cancel everything. That would suck, hypothetically speaking of course, and I would never do that to you.

If you’ve followed this series at all the last eight years you know my take on how I like to make this thing work. Each day we cover a player(s) on the roster. We hit some high points of 2019, I flash a little tape on some things I liked seeing, I hit on some things I might want to see improve or see different, and then give the player a metaphorical slap on the rear and try and drop a joke or two about one of their tweets. If this is all new to you, welcome aboard one of the most dysfunctional series on this very website, we’re glad to have you and we welcome you to drop any thoughts or comments you may have each day. I’ve got a few ”new things” up my sleeve this year as well as some of the old favorites so be sure to check back in daily as you never know what I may spew once we get a few weeks into this foolishness.

To kick things off let’s get a pulse check on expectations for this season. Sure, a record prediction in May is nearly as meaningful as a mid-June ‘Packer and Durham’ radio show , but it will at least give us a read as to where we as a fanbase are sitting with less than 100 days until we kick it off (fingers crossed). Cast your vote below, (sorry no mail in ballots) then voice your reasoning in the comments. I’ll hold off on my thoughts for now to keep you on the edge of your seat and fully titillated as each day passes about when I may drop my prediction.
