With no 2020 NCAA tournament, the “way too early” rankings for the 2020-21 college basketball season are coming about three weeks ahead of schedule and with even less information than usual.
Nonetheless, they’re out there, so let’s talk about where they have Louisville.
—Stadium (Jeff Goodman): No. 15
15. Louisville – The Cards will lose plenty: Jordan Nwora, Steven Enoch, Dwayne Sutton, Ryan McMahon and Fresh Kimble. That means Chris Mack will have to build around Malik Williams, Samuell Williamson and David Johnson. The key might be whether JUCO star Jay Scrubb winds up coming to Louisville or turning pro.
—USA Today: Unranked, but “also considered”
—247 Sports: Unranked, but in the “ten more to watch” section
—Jon Rothstein’s top 45 rankings: No. 29
29. Louisville
G David Johnson
G Jay Scrubb
F Samuell Williamson
F Aidan Igiehon
C Malik Williams
Key Losses: Jordan Nwora, Dwayne Sutton, Steven Enoch, Fresh Kimble, Ryan McMahon, Darius Perry
Key Newcomers: Jay Scrubb (JUCO transfer), D’Andre Davis, J.J. Traynor
