The Louisville Cardinals are all alone in first place in the ACC standings thanks to a nine-game winning streak, the program’s longest since joining the conference in 2014-15.
In order to extend that streak to 10, U of L will need to get the better of a Virginia team it has beaten only once as a member of the ACC, despite the fact that the two teams meet (at least) twice every season.
After a rough start to the year, the reigning national champions from Charlottesville appear to be hitting their stride. On the wings of the nation’s top defense, Virginia has won three straight, including a 61-56 triumph over then-No. 5 Florida State last week.
