D’Ante Davis, a four-star small forward from the class of 2022, has committed to play his college basketball for Chris Mack at Louisville.
Davis is the younger brother of current Cardinal freshman D’Andre Davis.
D’Ante Davis, who goes by “Tae,” picked U of L over Indiana, Purdue, Butler and Xavier. He is ranked as the No. 131 overall player in the 2022 class by 247 Sports.
As a sophomore playing a key role for mighty Indianapolis Lawrence Central, Davis averaged 10.9 points and 4.7 rebounds per game in 2019-20. He’s grown two inches from 6’4 to 6’6 since the end of that season, and should fill into his frame by the time he arrives at U of L, much the way his older brother did.
As far as his game is concerned, Davis is advertised as a terrific spot up shooter with a solid ability to finish around the rim. With some added size and two full high school seasons still to play, it’s reasonable to believe that his game will evolve more to the point where it looks comparable to Dre’s by the time he’s ready to suit up for the Cards.
I’d be good with this commitment if there were no family connection. Davis having an older brother who’s doing what he’s currently doing at Louisville only makes it sweeter.
