Evaluation:
Craig is probably best described as a “developmental” recruit but I think that the level of competition he plays against may be overblown. Craig puts up great numbers and has some rawness to his game but he plays with a great motor and shows the ability to make plays outside of his area. While some of those plays are due to his motor, plenty of them are him sniffing out a play and taking the proper angles to the ball. I think that shows that he has a good football IQ.
Craig has good speed off the edge and he uses his length well to beat blockers. I also like that he can make plays on the inside. He plays in a system that uses 3 down linemen so he should have no issues learning Bryan Brown’s system when he gets in.
Summary:
Craig has mentioned talking fishing with Mark Ivey during his recruitment and his relationship with the staff being a big part of why he picked Louisville. He seemed to be torn between UofL, Boston College, and Illinois but the Cards won out. I’ll be interested to see how Craig plays for his high school in the spring.
