Highlights:
Evaluation:
I would classify Alderman as a “Thumper” type of Linebacker. He gets downhill quickly and makes strong tackles at the point of attack. He should fit well in the role we saw Dorian Etheridge man the last two years. Alderman isn’t going to make a bunch of plays outside of the numbers but he won’t be asked to do that much. I will say that his play on offense shows that he’s a bit more athletic than he looks on the defensive side of the ball. He runs good routes as a Tight End and makes some catches with his hands and in the air. I tend to think that those plays are where the staff sees his potential as an athlete.
Summary:
Derek Nicholson made Alderman a priority once he joined the staff and once a couple of other targets made their picks to other schools, Alderman had a spot in the class. Alderman’s production outweighs his rankings as a prospect. He plays for a very good high school program and often is the best player on the field for them. He was the defensive MVP for his team as a Junior as well as being an All-State performer in Georgia.
