KANI WALKER - CORNERBACK
247 Composite: 3*/.8593
247: 3*/86
Rivals: 3*/5.6
Other Offers: Boston College, Arkansas, Maryland, Syracuse, Georgia Tech, IU, Minnesota
Highlights:
Evaluation:
Walker is a big corner who can cover well in man or zone coverage. He is roughly the same size as Marlon Character with a bit more length. I can’t help but wonder if he ends up at Safety at some point but I wondered the same about Character as well as Anthony Johnson. Both turned out to play well in Bryan Brown’s scheme.
While I have concerns about Walker being too big, he shows the coverage skills you want to see in this defense. He is aggressive in tight coverage and fights for the football in the air. He can turn his hips and runs with a long stride. He is also an aggressive tackler and should do well in run support.
Summary:
Boston College initially got a pledge from Walker but it always felt like he was destined to flip to Louisville. He credited the connection he had with the staff as well as the rest of the recruiting class for why he picked Louisville. From that point on, Walker has done a lot to help recruit the rest of the class on social media. Bryan Brown was the lead recruiter for Walker who will enroll in January.
From Douglas County HS to , welcome @KaniWalker_!
