Evaluation:
Louisville has a type on the Offensive Line and Gunn definitely fits. He’s an aggressive run blocker as well as being a solid athlete. He’s not as long as some of the guys they’ve landed over the last two classes but he doesn’t have short arms or limbs. His movement skills are nice and he really gets after it as a run blocker. The one question with Gunn is how he will handle traditional pass sets. That’s not that uncommon for most high school linemen so I’m not sure it’s a big concern at this point.
Summary:
Louisville targeted Gunn very early on and they did well to get him on campus as a junior. The early work paid off as Gunn pulled the trigger as the first recruit in the class and he shut things down immediately. UofL hasn’t had many recruits from Pennsylvania so it’s a good sign that the staff can step outside the footprint again to land a guy that they had high on their list. My understanding is that Gunn will not be enrolling early but he hasn’t announced that himself.
From Union Area HS to , welcome @aarongunn13!
