Two veterans of the Louisville football program announced Monday that they will be wrapping up. their college careers elsewhere.

Quarterback Jawon “Puna” Pass and cornerback Anthony Johnson both officially entered the NCAA transfer portal. The Pass news was broken by Chris Hummer of 247 Sports, while Johnson made his announcement on social media.

Louisville’s starting quarterback for nearly the entirety of the 2018 season and for the first two games of 2019, Pass leaves U of L with 2,545 yards passing and 14 career touchdowns. He played well in those first two games of 2019, but a foot injury ended his season and allowed Malik Cunningham to step in and seize control of the position. He’ll be a graduate transfer with one season of eligibility remaining next year.

Johnson, a redshirt junior this season, appeared in 32 games over his Louisville career with six starts. He accumulated 43 tackles (34 solo), four tackles for loss, two interceptions, 13 pass breakups, and three fumbles forced. He is also, according to U of L statistician Kelly Dickey, the only player in Cardinal football history to break up a pass on three consecutive plays, a feat he accomplished this season against Florida State.

Best of luck to both of these guys wherever they wind up.
