Time, TV set for 2020 Louisville vs. Kentucky basketball game

The Christmas to rivalry switch will have to be flipped even more quickly than usual this year.

Louisville has announced that its Dec. 26 men’s basketball game against Kentucky will tip-off at noon EST and will be televised by ESPN2.

ESPN sort of let this cat out of the bag by having the time and TV assignment listed on its website for the last several weeks, but whatever. It’s the Cards vs. the Cats early on the day after Christmas. Not ideal, but as I’ve said a million times over the last few years, unless both sides are willing to agree to a change in the time of the year this game is played, this is the situation the rivalry is going to continue to find itself in.

So here’s the full December calendar for the Cards:

Dec. 1 — vs. Western Kentucky (6 p.m./ACC Network)
Dec. 4 — vs. UNC Greensboro (2 p.m./ACC Network)
Dec. 9 — At Wisconsin (7:15 p.m./ESPN)
Dec. 16 — vs. NC State (7 p.m./ESPN)
Dec. 22 — At Pittsburgh (7 p.m./Regional Sports Networks)
Dec. 26 — vs. Kentucky (Noon/ESPN2)
