Louisville released its full non-conference schedule for the 2019-20 men’s basketball season on Thursday, with the final missing piece being a mid-November game against Indiana State.
The non-con schedule doesn’t provide quite the gauntlet that last year’s did, but with the ACC moving to a 20-game league schedule this season, it doesn’t need to. Michigan, Western Kentucky, Kentucky and Texas Tech are all good enough to be at-large teams this season, with the last two of that quartet likely to begin the season ranked in the top 15.
While there are some who have already jumped at the opportunity to give U of L crap for not playing a true road game until late December, those people are missing the fact that the Cards actually open the season on Nov. 5 at Miami. It’s also a safe bet that Louisville will be hosting a conference game at some point in December. The full ACC schedule is set to be released later this month.
Here’s the non-con lineup for 2019-20:
Saturday, Oct. 12 — Red-White Scrimmage
Tuesday, Oct. 29 — vs. Bellarmine (Exhibition)
Sunday, Nov. 10 — vs. Youngstown State
Wednesday, Nov. 13 — vs. Indiana State
Sunday, Nov. 17 — vs. North Carolina Central
Wednesday, Nov. 20 — vs. USC Upstate
Sunday, Nov. 24 — vs. Akron
