#5 Robert Hicks
Hometown: Miami, FL
Thoughts: Perhaps one of the biggest recruiting wins this past season for the staff was that of Robert Hicks. Hicks came in last year as a freshman and saw action in nine games, finishing the year with 24 tackles, and 2 tackles for loss. The new staff for one reason or another thought about shifting Mr. Hicks to defensive end after after a few weeks on campus and Hicks was…well…not really feeling it. Hicks entered his name in the transfer portal and was looking to explore his options hoping to stay at linebacker. Call it Coach Brown, call it Coach Dennison, call it him not wanting to miss his name in ‘The Cardinal Countdown’ whatever the reason, Hicks changed his mind a couple weeks later and was welcomed back to the sqaud…at linebacker.
This season I think the underclassman Hicks will get some PT once again but will likely be planted behind one of the more impressive players on that side of the ball in Dorian Etheridge. Adding depth at linebacker, especially in the middle will be key and getting Hicks back was important in that process. I can easily see Hicks developing into a starter in the next couple seasons and losing him, a former 4 star backer pursued by Auburn, Miami, Michigan State, etc, would be tough to replace.

I feel you man. I remember this one time a coach tried to get me to change from linebacker to defensive end….I kid, I kid.
#5 Seth Dawkins
Position: Wide Receiver
Hometown: Columbus, OH
Thoughts: Seth is great. I love Seth. Seth can play at the next level. I’ve spent three years hyping up Dawkins and even with a dip in production last year (no way this dude should only have one touchdown in a season) I still consider him a Top 10 receiver in the ACC. Instead of running through a bunch of numbers with only five days until kickoff let’s have some fun with it.
I saw this from back at the ACC Kickoff and thought it was hilarious…
“I don’t do this type of stuff, bruh”
Of course Seth is overly protective of those hands. Not to give the guy a complex but they are massive and allow him to bring down anything throw in his direction. Did you all see this photo last night? I know it’s a bit of an optical illusion since Dawkins is in front of Paul Rogers but my man’s hand literally stretch across the voice of the Cardinals entire chest plate.
Holy Chubbs Peterson , Batman.
Seth is a Senior which means he’ll never appear on this countdown again. Shout out to the man for three solid years so far and for helping lead one of the best groups on this year’s squad. I was a fan when he signed, I’m a fan today, and I’ll be a fan tomorrow. Go do work this year big man.
I love getting hip to new music lol— Seth Dawkins (@dawkins5_) March 28, 2019
True story, I pulled up my Amazon Music the other day and in the ‘Recents’ folder I had Disney Music, Hall & Oates, 80’s Hit’s, and the Moana Soundtrack. Hit me up for all my hot music takes.
