Thoughts: I know when I pull out the “I told you all about this kid” card it can loose some weight considering I try and look at everyone on the roster in a positive light heading into the season. But Yasir, I really did play hype man on the true freshman who I thought was a great pickup last season. I thought his talent would force the staff to get him some reps but the depth at linebacker may limit him and allow him to fall into the 4 game redshirt rule that was newly implemented in 2018. I was wrong. Dude played in eleven games, and maybe just because I already had his name circled as one to watch, he seemed to be all over the place helping to make plays or create havoc on that side of the ball (as much as anyone was in 2018) but also on special teams.

While his stats may not jump off the board Yasir had some impact plays that forced me to literally make a couple notes to myself during the year so I could reference them in this seasons post. Both of which came on special teams....

Note to self #1….”Yasir just killed a guy” (9/22)

Not to self #2….”Yasir, blew up a wedge. Special teams weapon” (10/27)

While I haven’t seen/heard much from Yasir in the first week of camp I still have him penciled in on my first team defense until someone tells me different. Kid is a solid football player who will now be getting coached up by one of the best in the business (Dennison). I said it last year, I’ll say it again in 2019. Stud.

Sweet Tweet:

How come I can’t get a bunch of guys cheering me on at work for doing some every tasks? Next time I clear up that copier jam you better believe I’m letting out a “Let’s Go!!” in the middle of the office. They’ll never know what hit ‘em.
