#62 Clayton Six
Class: Sophomore
Ht/Wt: 6-4/287
Position: Offensive Line
Hometown: Louisville, KY (Product of St. Xavier high School)
Twitter: @clayton_six66
Thoughts: Clayton joined the squad last season as a walk-on, playing his high school ball at the St. X here locally, not that fake one up in Cincinnati (If you pronounced that city Sin-Sin-Nata in your head, you’re dead to me).
Clayton saw the majority of his reps at center which is always encouraging to me. If we are taking lineman as walk-ons I want all of them to have played center at some point because those are the guys who not only know their assignment, but likely the assignments for the rest of the offense as well. Clayton was an All-District player at Center for the Tigers and was All-Region in my “great football names” awards. I mean, how cool a name is Clayton Six?
While the center position has a new body the Cards expect to compete up front (McCoy) you never know what could happen in Fall Camp. I didn’t anticipate Nathan Scheler getting multiple starts last year at the position, but he ended up doing exactly that, working his way into that spot. Everybody has a chance to earn some time and I’m sure Clayton, who got some solid time in the Spring, will be fighting just as hard as the rest of them. Check out of C6 in action back in high school (if they don’t, people should really call him C6).
Sweet Tweet:
Refs are ruining football.
