Oh these fallow days of summer.
No college sports.
Nothing left to do, but look ahead, or look back.
CardinalStrong and Keith Wynne are whetting our appetites for the fall, talking players, talking position groups, providing actual information regarding the upcoming Cardinal football season, the transfer of power, offering some insight that there is hope for U of L football in the future.
So what does Seedy K — asked in the 3d person — have to offer to the conversation?
Well, frankly, not much. I leave the factual stuff and informed insight to those fellows. As I’ve told The Professor early and often, when he’s told me to investigate something, “I’m a pundit, not a reporter.”
I’m ever the provocateur.
So, here’s what I got.
I’m asking all Cardinal fans within ear shot, whom they believe was the best Louisville Cardinal football player ever?
Lamar Jackson?
Teddy Bridgewater?
Johnny Unitas?
Doug Buffone?
Otis Wilson?
Joe Jacoby?
Lenny Lyles?
Ken Porco?
Chris Redmon?
Howard Stevens?
Carwell Gardner?
Eric Wood?
OK, that’s just a short list of likely responses. Weigh in please.
And, I ask, let’s keep the dialog above board. Let’s do our best to stay away from back and forth like, “That’s the stupidest thing I’ve ever read, you imbecile. You obviously know nothing. My granddaughter’s pet hamster knows more about football than you do.”
Statistical evidence to back up your choice is a good thing. Eschew recency bias or positional bias, if you can. If you can’t, explain your answers.
Ladies, gentlemen: On your mark, get set, go.
