Three-star defensive tackler Jared Dawson became Louisville football’s fourth commitment in six days and its second in the last 24 hours when he announced his decision on Twitter Thursday morning.

As a junior at Collierville (TN) High School in 2018, Dawson earned first-team All-Region honors after recording 68 tackles, 11 sacks and 26 tackles for a loss. The 6’3, 255-pound D-lineman is also a standout in wrestling, where he went 50-3 and placed third in the heavyweight division at the Class 3-A state tournament last season. Dawson also scored a 31 on his ACT and told 247 Sports that he hopes to improve that score the next time he takes the test.

Dawson picked Louisville over Missouri, Wake Forest and Georgia Tech, among many others. His commitment comes less than a day after three-star athlete Khatavian Franks committed to U of L.

Franks, who is expected to play linebacker at Louisville, has scholarship offers from over 20 schools, including Michigan State, Boston College and Pittsburgh.

Scott Satterfield’s first U of L recruiting class is now up to seven commitments.
