Thoughts: Brandon “Beef” Wellington was a walk-on for the Cards last season, coming across the bridge (“and pay the tolls”) from Jeff High after playing on the line on both sides of the football. Beef’s high school coach told the CJ that Wellington has been a big Cards fan since he was a kid, which is by no means a prerequisite, but something I always find cool.
At a “svelte” 6-2/280 Wellington doesn’t hesitate in getting downfield when necessary and because he has some D-Lineman in him, generating contact is not a concern. Roll that beautiful beef footage…
Wellington didn’t see any game action last season and I’d anticipate that the depth on the line this season will make it challenging for him once again in 2019. If he can offer some solid contributions in the weight room and on the practice field in 2019 I’d say Beef has done his job this year. As he continues to develop and learn the new system I think he has a shot to provide some relief up front as an upperclassman. Glad to have him on board.
Sweet Tweet:
Young M.A. don’t get enough credit smh

I’ve been joking for years that reading these 18-22 year old tweets every summer makes me feel really old. Not as funny when it becomes more of a reality each year. I’m just glad I’m well aware of what “smh” means. I got no shot of knowing who ‘Young M.A.’ is.
