Thoughts: Congratulations to Mr. Black for being the first true freshman recruit for Coach Satterfield to appear on ‘The Cardinal Countdown’. A prestigious award that his grandkids will talking about many years from now I’m sure.

If you recall a few days ago I was discussing the type of lineman that Satt and Ledford are looking for moving forward in their system in relation to size and athleticism. Joshua is that type player. At 6-4 he without question has the height and wingspan you like to see on the line but at a slimmer 270 he can get up and down the field without issue. In the tape below you’ll see a couple examples of Black moving his man 10 yards downfield or peeling off his first assignment and sliding into the second level. THIS is the type of player Ledford wants and it’s the type of player he (so far) has no problem getting. Black mentioned both Ledford and Satt as big reasons for him coming on board and said the family atmosphere was a big selling feature to him and his family. I don’t want to beat the poor dead horse any more than I already have but folks, this new culture on campus is refreshing, and it’s bringing in bodies the staff wants. Yes, I know wins and losses still matter, but the offseason we’ve seen so far from recruits and current players has been incredible to watch.

Check out some of Black below playing on both sides of the ball for Stephenson High School down in the outskirts of Atlanta.

Sweet Tweet:

I’ve shown you guys a few things from Ledford on here before, but the ‘Band of Brothers’, with the punisher skull, and the Murderbird…I mean, that’s a pretty sweet logo for the O-line. If Ledford and UofL are reading this, sell me a shirt already.
