Henry Bryant decided to make the call and commit to Louisville Football this afternoon. Bryant becomes the 10th member of the 2020 class and he becomes the highest rated player in the 247 composite rankings. Louisville now has three players in the class from the state of Florida which we all know has served the program well. The staff held off NC State, Duke, Iowa State, UK, Syracuse, and West Virginia to land the three star defensive tackle.

My first reaction when I turned on Bryant’s tape was that he reminded me of Poona Ford. He’s a short guy at 5-11 but comes in at a solid 275 pounds. He is very quick off the ball and can cover a lot of ground in a short time. I believe he will do very well with the slants and stunts that the new defensive scheme requires. He shows some good strength also, so I think he will handle the role of eating up blocks pretty well, too.

The folks that read the film breakdowns of App State’s 2018 season already know how big of a factor MyQuon Stout was for their defense. He’s 6-1/280 and finished last year with 1.5 tackles for loss. He was also voted first team all conference. The guy was an absolute force up front and disrupted everything the offense tried to do. Coaches and writers took notice even though he wasn’t filling up the stat sheet. That’s the type of guy this staff wants up front and Bryant shows some of the same traits.

This staff is on a tear right now on the recruiting trail and it appears that things will keep going into next week.
