Since the Cards don’t have a player on the roster until Day 95 I didn’t want to leave you hanging for five days straight. Instead, I’ll use today as an introductory disclaimer for the entire countdown and hit you up with a quick poll.
If you’ve followed this series hardly at all the last seven years you know my take on how I like to make this thing work. A little flashback to last year, some highlights, maybe a touch of some areas I’d like to see a guy improve, but overwhelmingly a positive outlook towards the upcoming season. Before we get one single player into the 2019 Countdown I want to make it abundantly clear that when I reference last season it will be nearly impossible to constantly put a positive spin on things. It was not good football. I was mad. I was disappointed. I was downright disgusted at times, and reliving that every single day for the next three months isn’t helping anyone but it will be impossible to ignore altogether. I’ll be real with you when I need to be, avoid some topics when they don’t need to be addressed, and try my hardest to pull a Satterfield and change the culture, where we focus more on what’s ahead than the battles that are already behind us. Cool? Alright.
To kick things off let’s get a pulse check on expectations for this season. Sure, a record prediction in May is about as useless as a ‘Bracketology’ in November, but it will at least give us a read as to where we as a fanbase are sitting with less than 100 days until we kick it off. Cast your vote below, then voice your reasoning in the comments. I’ll hold off on mine for now as to not interject any bias into this very serious and extremely scientific study.
