ZACH EDWARDS - LINEBACKER
247 Composite: 3*/.8709
247: 3*/86
ESPN: 3*/78
Rivals: 3*/5.7
Other Offers: LSU, Ole Miss, Mississippi State, Texas A&M
Highlights:
Evaluation: Any time you can land a kid that was once committed to LSU, you’re in a good spot. The Cards are getting a big kid who can run really well and plays with the energy that they expect. Edwards can play on the edge or possibly move inside in the new scheme. I’m really impressed how versatile Edwards is and how well he runs down plays. Mark Ivey has mentioned “quick-twitch” a few times since he joined the staff and you see that a lot in Edwards. He fits the mold of guys who can get off the ball quickly and play fast.
Summary: Zach Edwards was one of the final linebacker offers that Louisville’s new staff extended and they got immediate interest from him. He visited the campus that weekend and made it pretty obvious that he was going to join the Cards.
“Coach Satterfield has impressed me because he is very family-oriented.”
