RENATO BROWN - OFFENSIVE LINE
247 Composite: 3*/.8568
247: 3*/.89
ESPN: 3*/79
Rivals: 3*/5.6
Other Offers: Miami, Alabama, Georgia, Florida, Penn State
Highlights:
Offense
Defense (Won’t play here but they show some skills)
Evaluation: Even though I have a hard time evaluating offensive linemen, Brown actually shows his best assets on the defensive side of the ball, in my opinion. Brown is a massive guy and uses his size well, but I like how he uses his hands to shed blocks and get by people with technique and not just by overpowering them. That makes me feel that he can handle the run heavy scheme that Scott Satterfield is bringing to Louisville. He has a little finesse to his game.
Summary: Louisville needed help at the offensive line spot and the first commitment they received in the second signing period was from Brown. Cort Dennison was Brown’s lead recruiter during his first stint here and he relied on that relationship to link back up and landed the big offensive lineman out of Florida. The former Miami commit made the call to commit to the Cards shortly after finishing his official visit.
“Right away, physically, he’s mature enough and developed enough to where he is going to be able to hold his own.”
