Louisville women a No. 1 seed in early top 16 seed reveal

In the first of two top 16 seed reveals during the 2018-19 season by the NCAA Women’s Basketball Selection Committee, it was announced that if the season ended today, Louisville would be one of the Big Dance’s four No. 1 seeds.

Joining the Cards on the top line? Baylor, Oregon, and the team that knocked U of L out of the Final Four a season ago, Mississippi State.

Here’s a look at the full top 16:

  1. Baylor (No. 1 seed – Greensboro Region)
  2. Louisville (No. 1 seed – Chicago Region)
  3. Oregon (No. 1 seed – Portland Region)
  4. Mississippi State (No. 1 seed – Albany Region)
  5. UConn
  6. Notre Dame
  7. Stanford
  8. North Carolina State
  9. Marquette
  10. Iowa
  11. Maryland
  12. Oregon State
  13. South Carolina
  14. Gonzaga
  15. Iowa State
  16. Miami (FL)

And how things would be divided up by region:

The second early top 16 revea will take place Monday, March 4 at halftime of the UConn vs. South Florida game on ESPN2. That game tips off at 7 p.m.
