During Michigan’s media availability on Monday, reserve guard David DeJulius was the source of a quote that certainly turned some heads locally.
When asked about going up against the No. 1 team in the country on Tuesday night, DeJulius had no problem saying his team was ready for the challenge.
“We want it all,” DeJulius said. “We want all the smoke.”
It’s safe to say that comment made it back to pretty much everybody associated with Louisville basketball.
Chris Mack made reference to the comment in his postgame tweet, Sean Moth mentioned it as he wished the fans inside the KFC Yum Center a safe trip home, and Jordan Nwora wasted little time getting into it during his time behind the mic after Louisville’s 58-43 win.
“We had heard they wanted some smoke yesterday,” Nwora said. “They got some smoke, and they got smoked. You know, that’s what happens. They were talking. We were able to quiet it up a little bit.”
