Evaluation:
I don’t feel that UofL needs a JUCO corner to come in and play right away so I like that they ended up getting a guy who they can develop. Lowery has the height and length that you like to see and he does a good job of defending he ball in the air. I didn’t get a chance to watch multiple games or find more video like I did with guys who were committed for a while but from his senior year highlights there’s a lot to like from a potential standpoint. He is a more than willing tackler and he played both safety and corner. He won’t likely play early but I think this is a solid late take in the class.
Summary:
There’s not much to know about Lowery’s recruitment or backstory as he didn’t have a public offer until he signed. Louisville targetted a couple of JUCO corners late in the process and didn’t land one, so they had a spot and he flipped from App State. From what I can tell, the staff didn’t have their eyes on him for long but Pete Notcha and the behind the scenes guys seem to have been in on him for a bit. It’ looks like the App State connection is just a coincidence.
