Evaluation:
Louisville is getting a really good cover corner in Vance. He is only 5-10 but you can see how long he is in his highlights. Vance also has a strong vertical at 35 inches. He uses his length really well when it comes to defending balls in the air. He can go after interceptions by playing the ball like a receiver and he has shown exceptional hands when he makes interceptions. In my opinion, he has shown everything you want to see from a cornerback prospect outside of his weight. He will have to work hard in the weight room to make sure that he can handle the physical aspects of playing college football.
Summary:
Bryan Brown made Vance a priority in this class and Vance made it clear that Brown’s level of attention meant a lot to him. Brown was the only defensive coordinator that came to visit him and he made more than one trip. He also kept in touch about non-football things which he felt was important. I would be surprised if we see him make a big impact this upcoming season but Vance has all of the skills that you want and I think he has a chance to be a starter in his secon year after Chandler Jones and others graduate.
