Highlights:
Evaluation:
Minkins is a long athlete who has really good ball skills. I’d argue that he would be able to be a wide receiver for a small handful of power five schools. His abilities as a receiver should really help him as a deep safety for Louisville. He doesn’t have great speed but he can track the football and he will know how to use the right angles to get to the ball. That’s an underrated aspect of playing safety. He also has a really nice frame for the strength staff to work with. If he can immerse himself in that part of college football he should develop very well.
Summary:
The Louisville staff put a premium on local kids and they had laser focus on getting Minkins as a legacy recruit. Louisville utilized their locality really well as Minkins visited plenty on the weekends while also just stopping by during the week. He also has made plenty of trips to basketball games and has been in the locker room after games. He’s been vocal about how he’s seen the change with the new staff which has only been helpful.
