Highlights:
Evaluation:
I made the observation on Twitter that Christian Fitzpatrick is the same height and weight as Randy Moss who Gunter Brewer coached in high school. While Christian isn’t Moss I expect him to have a role of downfield threat early on at Louisville. He can use his size to help separate because he has some of the same ball skills and body control that Dez has shown over the years. The one thing I’m not sure about with his game is his suddenness. He is a long athlete with long strides. It’ll be interesting to see if he can run those shorter slants and in routes where he has to cut quickly.
Summary:
Having Dez on the team obviously helped the staff here but I do know that there was some real concern about the new offense when the staff was hired. Scott Satterfield was able to show that his offense can feature big play wide receivers and would throw the ball enough to spread the ball around. While the offense might still be a bit run heavy, the staff has really made an impression on the Fitzpatrick family as a whole and they were able to flip him from Washington State.
