Highlights:
Evaluation:
Jenkins is a play maker who should help Louisville’s defense in the back end. He should be able to fit well in the role that Russ Yeast plays. He can cover well as a corner but has strong tackling skills as well as the willingness to do so. I think his best skill at this point is his ability to track the ball and play the ball in the air. Jenkins also has really good return skills and returned interceptions and kick returns for touchdowns as a senior.
Summary:
ShaDon Brown pulled off one of the most impressive recruiting wins of the cycle when he flipped Jenkins from Tennessee. The staff had him on campus multiple times but it was the relationship they made with him early on that allowed them to continue recruiting him. It appears that Trennel Troutman has moved to the Card spot so there’s a chance that Jenkins could be needed for depth at safety. There’s also a chance that TreSean Smith will be back with the team so there are a lot of moving parts there. Jenkins could just be a straight redshirt which is obviously a good sign for the long term depth there.
