Evaluation:
We’ve talked “fit” a lot since the new staff took over and it’s really showing when it comes to the offensive and defensive lines. Reid is a long, athletic player who has really grown into his frame while holding on to his athleticism. He shows a really great ability to get into space and he does well to stay under control when he’s making blocks in space. I’m also impressed by how he moves his feet when blocking and doesn’t just rely on being bigger than his opponent.
Summary:
Louisville has landed three NJCAA All-Americans in the last handful of years. One was Trevon Young who ended up in the NFL after being a very good pass rusher for UofL. Monty Montgomery made the list last year and currently leads the team in sacks and forced fumbles. The third is Reid. Louisville has to replace both starting tackles and Reid should be able to step into one of those spots.
While he doesn’t have the offers that you would like to see, being named an All-American puts any concern to rest for me.
