Enjoy Thanksgiving, then turn your full focus towards bringing the Governor’s Cup back to The Ville.

The annual “Battle for the Governor’s Cup” football game between Louisville and Kentucky will kick off at noon from UK’s Kroger Field in Lexington, the SEC announced Thursday. The SEC Network will televise the game.

Since the launch of the SEC Network in 2015, every Louisville-Kentucky game played in Lexington has been a noon kickoff played on the network.

Louisville hasn’t lost to Kentucky in Lexington since all the way back in Steve Kragthorpe’s second season of 2009. Even in that game, it took a fumbled punt late in the fourth quarter for the Wildcats to secure the Governor’s Cup.

Enjoy lots of turkey on Thursday, enjoy beating Western Kentucky in basketball on Friday, and then wrap up an overwhelmingly successful 2019 regular season by beating Kentucky on Saturday. Should be a nice little holiday weekend.
