Louisville football picked up a big commitment this weekend with Christian Fitzpatrick committing after his official visit. Christian is a composite three star receiver who Rivals rates as a four star. He is the younger brother of Louisville receiver Dez Fitzpatrick and has made numerous visits to campus over the last few years. He chose Louisville after decommitting from Washington State last week and he has offers from Penn State, Oregon, West Virginia, Purdue, and others.
Christian is a big bodied and long receiver with really good down field speed. He is a similar player to Dez as he shows good skills as a route runner and some of the other skilled things that most high school players don’t have at that age. But outside of that, I don’t see a lot of similarities. He is a different type of player and that’s probably a good thing. Being compared all the time would likely get old.
Louisville was in need of another outside receiver as they are losing Seth Dawkins and Devante Peete this year. The staff is also trying to get Jordan Watkins to join the class and it’s a good sign that both of these guys seem to already have a relationship. If the staff can finish off the receiver position with these two guys it would be huge.
