T.J McCoy has announced that he will be transferring to Louisville for his final year of eligibility. McCoy was a starter at Florida for parts of two seasons before the new staff took over this past season. McCoy played in four games this year so he was able to transfer and save a year which he will use as a Card.
At Florida, McCoy played center and Louisville is in need of help at that spot even if it were just for depth purposes. Robbie Bell and Cole Bentley both return with experience at center but Bentley had never played there before last year and struggled as a fill-in. Bell had been practicing at tackle late in the 2018 season and could stay there if the new staff likes him there. Louisville ended the year with only eight scholarship offensive linemen and McCoy would take that number to thirteen if all of the current commits end up signing.
McCoy adds a veteran prescense to the offensive line group that doesn’t have a senior with any experience. He should be able to provide more options for the coaches as well as more competition for the small group of guys on the roster that have been able to get on the field.
