Year number seven of ‘The Cardinal Countdown’ is officially a wrap. Over the last 100 days I’ve thrown plenty of things at you from some of my serious takes on the season to some absolute ridiculousness, and below are a few of the posts that I enjoyed putting together the most....
#10: Day 79: Drawing an O-line in the sand
#6: Day 3: The Old Meets The New
Thank you all for following along with me this summer. I’m going to be a bit more active during the season this year hoping to continue my ‘Race To A Championship’ series along with a couple of other things I have in the works. As always, your support and interaction is appreciated more than you know.
Since we started this journey together back on May 24th plenty of things have changed in the football program, including a (almost) completed new stadium addition, a new stadium name and logo, a couple transfers, a few injuries, etc but plenty of questions have remained the same. What will the offense look like? What will the rebuilt defense look like? What identify will this team take on? Is this a transition season or a building block to something special? There is one thing I know for sure and that is that one game, the game we’ve been counting down too and will all watch later tonight, will not define this season, win or lose.

Beating Alabama would be incredible and worthy of plenty of celebration, but it doesn’t get you any closer to an ACC Championship, and losing to Bama doesn’t get you any further from winning one. I think the Cards can pull the upset, I honestly do, but if they don’t I’m not letting it ruin the excitement that has been building up for well over 100 days. College football is back, and I can’t wait to see what the Cards have in store for us in this 100th season of Cardinal Football. Let’s do this.
Go Cards.
