Quentin Snider has inked his first professional contract, one which will send him to Lisbon, Portugal. There, Q will play for S.L. Benfica, a club which won its league’s regular season title last season and made the playoff semifinals.

“I know that this is the best team in Portuguese basketball,” Snider told the S.L. Benefica website. ”In my rookie year, my expectations are to learn from the rest of the team, get to know them well and try to win every game. ... I know that Benfica is a team with a culture of victory and I cannot wait to play with my teammates, helping to win games and helping to maintain the winning tradition of the team.”

Snider averaged 11.8 points, four assists and 2.7 rebounds per game last season, and also became Louisville’s 68th all-time 1,000-point scorer.

Congrats to Q on what will hopefully be a long and fruitful professional career.
